John Barton

John is Head of Advice for our Brisbane office and Head of New Client Engagement for our firm nationally.  Prior to joining Shadforth, John’s experience included senior roles with Tynan Mackenzie, ipac, AXA and Sunsuper.  John’s career has presented him with opportunities to work both locally and internationally — in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.  His substantial experience is complemented by his knowledge and passion in the area of behavioural economics — the study of emotions and psychology and how they influence financial and investment decisions.  John holds a Master of Business Administration, a Graduate Diploma in Marketing, a Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance and a Bachelor of Economics.
