After completing a combined Arts/ Laws Degree and Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of Tasmania, Charles worked with a major law firm and was admitted a Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the High Court of Australia. Charles has been at Shadforth for over 10 years and has completed the Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University, the Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment through the Securities Institute, and the Institute of Company Directors Diploma Course. He is involved in several community and industry-based bodies and also a Justice of the Peace. Charles is a Representative of Shadforth, a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and an associate member of the Financial Planning Association. He specialises in providing financial planning and investment advice for private clients throughout Australia.
Charles was a national and state winner in the 2010 Financial Planning Association Value of Advice Awards recognizing his professionalism and the high value of advice that he offers to clients. A fifth generation Tasmanian, Charles lives in Hobart with wife Shirl and three young children. A keen sports follower and avid North Melbourne supporter, he also enjoys scuba diving, sailing, touch football, cricket, reading and politics, when the opportunity arises. Charles was awarded the 2011 Money Management Australian Financial Planner of the Year. In the same year Charles was also the National and State winner of the Future2 Community Service Best Practice Award for his services in promoting financial literacy to those socially disadvantaged within the community.
