About Campbell

Campbell is a Private Client Adviser in the Melbourne office for the Shadforth Financial Group.

Education and experience

Campbell is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) practitioner, the highest accreditation in the financial planning profession. He is also a SMSF Specialist Adviser (SSA™), has completed a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at Monash University and holds a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University.

Campbell was recognised  in the Australian's Top 50 Financial Advisers in Australia, in association with Barron's in 2017 and 2018. He has previously been a finalist in the AFR Smart Investor Masterclass for Financial Planning and short listed in the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) Value of Advice Awards. Campbell began his financial services career in 1992 at Coopers & Lybrand chartered accountants and joined a Shadforth Financial Group founding member firm (Haintz Financial Services) as a Senior Financial Adviser in 2003 before being appointed as a Director.

Campbell is a past Melbourne Chapter Committee member of the FPA and has been a Master of Ceremonies and guest speaker at major industry events and conferences. He is the author of several whitepapers, a regular media contributor and has lectured in financial planning at the University of Melbourne.

Campbell is firmly committed to helping successful people achieve their goals by making smarter financial decisions. This provides them with freedom and confidence to spend more time doing what they love. His client base includes senior executives, business owners, retirees, high net wealth individuals and not-for-profits. Campbell’s areas of expertise include cashflow modelling, goals-based investing, wealth creation, superannuation planning and philanthropic services.

Outside of work

Away from work, Campbell enjoys spending time with family and friends. He provides pro bono financial services, mentors other advisers and volunteers with his children’s sporting teams (typically as a coach or umpire). Campbell is passionate about a number of causes and competes in various fundraising charity events. He also invests time in his health and wellbeing, playing pennant tennis, swimming, cycling and running.

Giving Now or Giving Later

Everybody knows you can't take it with you, but the bigger question is - when should you give your money away and how much should it be?  It's a question wrapped up in emotion, philosophy and financial planning. It's no small issue, especially with the passing of inheritance to the next generation expected to be the largest in history with some estimates putting it at over a trillion dollars.

I enjoyed a moment of reflection recently after completing a half marathon (fun) run. By the way, I wonder why they call it a 'fun' run? It really wasn't that pleasurable at all! But it got me thinking. I achieved my goal, I was proud and all I wanted to do was thank my 'team'.
