Gene Phair is the Head of Shadforth in Tasmania, the state in which Shadforth originated. He leads a professional and committed team and is responsible for the provision of advice and service to clients and ensuring the smooth running of Shadforth Tasmania by overseeing our three offices in Hobart, Launceston and Devonport.

Education and experience
Gene joined the Shadforth Team in September 2016. Prior to this, Gene spent almost 12 years as Group Financial Controller and Head of Corporate and Capital Management at IOOF, an ASX listed Top 100 company, responsible for mergers and acquisitions and Treasury function. Gene is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, has a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from the University of Tasmania and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
He is a long-standing Board Member of the National Heart Foundation of Australia (Tasmanian Division) and is Chairman of the Board of The Hutchins School.
Outside of work
Gene is married with two teenage children and outside of work he is actively involved in many local community organisations such as AFL football, cricket and Little Athletics.
