Message from Terry Dillon - CEO

It has been a busy start to the year with the final report from the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry released on 4 February 2019. We fully support Commissioner Hayne’s recommendations and believe that over time they will strengthen the financial system to benefit all Australians.

It is important to note that whilst both sides of politics have indicated broad support, at this time these are recommendations only, and not the law. Final positions may not be clear for some time, with the majority legislated after the Federal election, on or before May 18.

Commissioner Hayne noted that too often the financial services industry had asked itself, ‘can we do this?’ rather than ‘should we do this?’

At Shadforth our focus has always been to put our clients’ interests in front of our own and at the heart of everything we do. We believe that this positions us well to adapt to any changes that flow from the Royal Commission.

As a professional services firm, the quality and calibre of our people, our advisers and the teams that support them, are our key assets and are why we are unique in the Australian marketplace.

"Shadforth advisers are uniquely qualified and experienced. The majority have achieved CFP status, the industry's highest professional designation and have an average tenure of over 14 years."

Our high standards and professionalism were recognised late last year with eight of our advisers making the Financial Standard’s Power50 list. This list recognises the 50 most influential advisers in Australia as voted by the industry, and we were honoured to have so many of our advisers acknowledged.

We will soon be commencing our annual client survey to gather feedback on how we are performing as your financial partner and how we can serve you better in the future. Your feedback is invaluable to us and I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the short survey.

I wish you success and happiness throughout 2019 and thank you for your continued support. As always, please contact your adviser if you have any questions.
