We’re pleased to welcome Angus Benbow as the new Chief Executive Officer of Shadforth Financial Group. Angus joined us in December and has since been travelling to our offices around Australia, meeting staff and getting to know the business.
One of the main reasons Angus joined Shadforth was our commitment to service and our cultural philosophy of always working in the best interests of our clients. Angus personally feels a strong alignment to this philosophy and wishes to preserve and strengthen this culture.
After completing his initial office visits Angus said, “The Shadforth business looks and feels the way an advice business should — more akin
to a professional services firm where quality standards and holistic client service are ingrained in everyone from day one. This will continue to make Shadforth stand out in the profession as offering high-quality advice, with the aim of continuing to be one of the best, but not the biggest.”
Prior to Shadforth, Angus served in various senior leadership roles at Perpetual Ltd, one of which was leading the advice and investment proposition for its Advice and Trustee business. This experience provides him with a deep understanding of financial advice and its service offerings.
In his formative years he was as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy where, amongst various roles, he was a helicopter pilot for a number of years. He also spent time advising companies on their business strategy at Booz Allen Hamilton.
On a personal note, Angus grew up in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. He now lives in Sydney with his wife, Melanie and three young children. Given the national nature of his role, Angus will be travelling frequently and looks forward to meeting as many of you as possible.
