About Philip
Philip is a Private Wealth Adviser in the Perth office for the Shadforth Financial Group.
Phil in his own words
From a young age I was fascinated with earning and saving money. I loved using my bank passbook and used my spare time doing odd jobs in the neighbourhood to earn pocket money. Having a father who was a Professor in Accounting and Finance helped guide my knowledge, and over the years I developed an appreciation for money and what it does for people, in terms of financial freedom and security.
It was a natural path for me to study commerce and finance at university, and on graduation I was lucky enough to join a financial planning firm with some great mentors. I’ve been there ever since.
I love what I do and honestly believe I have the best job in the world. I get to work with great people, meet clients and hear their stories, dreams and life ambitions. To help them invest and develop a well thought out plan for their money and future is very rewarding.
My clients
I specialise in several key areas of advice though I’m predominantly a retirement adviser. I enjoy helping people transition from work to the next phase of their life and provide financial advice to use either their accumulated superannuation savings, investment portfolios or business (sale) to fund their retirement.
Aside from retirement advice, I work with professionals such as medical specialists and lawyers who are time poor and need expert wealth accumulation and preservation strategies, and help managing their retirement savings. I also assist clients that have received inheritances or been impacted by divorce or the loss of their partner.
I also have a keen interest and background in partnering with Native Title Charitable Trusts and Foundations/Charities and am currently working with Trusts in the Kimberley, Pilbara and Perth regions. I enjoy working with traditional owners and stakeholders to manage their portfolios and ensure funds are prudently managed to benefit of current and future generations.
